CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY SCHOOL

MS Girls vs FCA 2/26

WE GOT BETTER!!!! Some of you will know what I mean. The Lady Colts middle school basketball team took down rival Franklin Christian Academy 26 to 24 in one of the best basketball atmospheres you could ever imagine especially for a middle school game. The electricity in the building was off the charts so much so it felt like a championship game. The Lady Colts were on their game, scrapping and fighting for every loose ball and defending every inch of the floor. The Falcons trailed the Colts by one to end the first quarter but took a 12 to 8 lead into halftime. The Lady Colts won the third quarter by one point to set up a 20 to 17 start of the fourth quarter which in this opinion was one of the best and most exciting quarters of basketball I have witnessed in a long time. At the start of the quarter it seemed neither team was going to score another point mostly trading missed free throws. The Falcons led 23 to 19 and the Colts scored a bucket to bring it to 23-21.FCA missed two free throws and CCS hit 1 of 2 to make it 23-22. The Falcons missed more charity tosses and Ruby Wright was fouled and made 1 of 2 to tie the game at 23.FCA came down and again was fouled and the shooter made 1 of 2 to take a 1 point lead. With time running out and the crowd going bonkers, Makenzie Rigsby was fouled with 15 seconds remaining. MAK stepped to the line and missed the first shot. On the second shot it was nothing but net. At that point FCA chose to inbound the ball and Rigsby was waiting and stole the ball and put it in for the win.
